It’s hard to believe but it has been almost two years since my editor at Wide Open Country was contacted by Mayde “Mimi” Gomez from SA Live in San Antonio to do a piece based on my humorous article “Learn to Speak Texan” about Texas colloquialisms.

I drove out to San Antonio and we walked around in front of the Alamo in the blazing Texas heat for as long as we could stand. It was fun and I enjoyed meeting Mimi. She is also a native Texan so she’s well-versed in the Texas lexicon, or the Texicon as I like to call it. She has since moved on to take a roll at ABC in Los Angeles.
